SMARTPHONE.. SECURITY: Check these two links www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2vARzvWxwY ..

UNUSED ICONS: Occasionally Windows will pop up an offer to tidy up your desktop and remove "Unused Icons". This is never helpful and only messes up your layout. Do not agree.

NEW GADGETS AND TOYS: These seem to arrive weekly - iPhone,iPod, iPad, Kindle, G4 phone, SmartPhones and a deluge more to come. You can view or download excellent How-To video instructions from www.butterscotch.com . Enter the name of your gadget in SEARCH.

Most videos will run directly. BUT the iPad videos must be downloaded to your own desktop before running. (Right click on QuickTime and select SAVE TARGET AS..)

Another site for video instruction is www.youtube.com but these are not highest clarity and a few videos are mischievous.

Before buying new gadgets check the price range at www.pricegrabber.com or www.techbargains.com . Better to buy at a retail chain so you can easily return a defective unit - also it gets a gentler ride through transport.

eBOOKS: Kindle (Amazon) and Apple will sell you readers and ebooks. Rather pricey ! Before buying a book check for a free copy at www.gutenberg.org or Google Books CLICK .More on http://www.amazon.com/ or Barnes & Noble . If you prefer paper books check Amazon for new and used prices.
Be sure to check this free service CLICK.

Peter demonstrated the RAM memory modules in desktops and laptops. Windows XP machines will accept up to 2 GIGs of RAM memory. Vista and Windows7 accept up to 6 GIGs and need lots more RAM.. Adding RAM is best taken to the shop and stuff in all the computer will hold. It maximizes your speed. Conway just added a whack of RAM for WinXP and is less aggravated these days.
